SINGER, SONGWRITER AND MUSIC MENTOR

Benji Lamar has been performing professionally as a solo artist and with his band City of Decades since 2014 and has had various ensemble line ups that portray his alternative style.

 

His sound has been described as indie-folk and pop-punk and sounding like "Of Monsters and Men with some edge to the vocals." Another description is "The Beatles meets Panic! at the Disco" which describes his influence from admiring great oldies, along with the alternative music of today.

 

Benji was classically trained on violin at a young age and picked up guitar in high school to start singing songs.

He has been writing his own originals for 11 years.

 

His personal mission with his music is to shed light on the issues of mental health in our society. Awareness, support, and education on these issues of emotional hygiene can create a positive effect on the population. There's no doubt music therapy will be in his future.
